Paige & Doug’s May 2014 wedding at the Hammock Beach Resort, Palm Coast FL was a perfect example of excellent Ceremony music choices. I supplied a Harp & Cello Duet for both the Ceremony & Cocktail Hour. For Ceremony music processionals, Paige wanted a mix of recent contemporary and popular music from the past. Paige & Doug had about 150 guests: many were their friends, but more were family & friends of their parents. She kept the age range & music tastes in mind when selecting songs and the result was amazing: an incredible number of their guests came by after both the Ceremony & Cocktail Hour to say how much they loved the music!
This is what we played for Paige & Doug’s Wedding Ceremony:
Seating of Mothers: “What a Wonderful World” – Louis Armstrong version
Bridal Party: “Here Comes the Sun” – The Beatles
Bride: “Hallelujah” – Rufus Wainwright
Recessional: “All You Need is Love” – The Beatles (a la Love, Actually)
Postlude: “I’m Yours” – Jason Mraz
Paige also had requests for Prelude music (before the Ceremony): “Every Breath You Take”, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, and “Marry Me” & “Just the Way You Are” – Bruno Mars.
Paige & Doug’s Ceremony & Cocktail Hour music was wonderful – it provided the perfect complement to their wedding and that’s exactly what background music should do!
